2016 Session Schedule
2016 Breaks: *Break May 30 - Jun 3 **Break Aug 29 - Sept 2
What will I get out of this program? In short: you'll learn to dance zouk! During the program you will become familiar with all of the key foundational elements in Brazilian Zouk. The large majority of more complex, advanced movements and sequences are just combinations of these same elements, so the Foundations Program will give you a strong comprehensive base from which to explore zouk's countless possibilities.
You will also have plenty of opportunity to put what you're learning into practice on the dance floor every step of the way at our socials and practices. By the end of the program you will be able to dance Brazilian Zouk safely & comfortably and be able to connect on the dance floor with many different types of people.
Why a modular program? We want to make learning zouk as simple and effective as possible. Over five years of teaching zouk in Toronto has made it clear: the ease and adaptability of the students who have completed at least 8 months of our courses demonstrate the power of coupling our instruction and curriculum with their level of commitment and consistency. It just works.
If you'd like to learn how to dance zouk, we will make it our mission to help you get there!
Intro | Basic |
|

| Level 1 | Thread | Bonus | Yo-Yo | Circular Soltinho | Level 2 | Touch&Go | Top / Piau | Diagonals | Angle Changes | Level 3 | Tilted Turn | Roasted Chicken | Cambre | Snake |
What pre-requisites do I need before starting? If you are a new dancer, we recommend starting with our 4-week Intro to Zouk Course. If you already have a fair amount of social dance experience or you cannot make the time slot, please take a couple Private Classes to learn the basics.
I'll definitely have to miss a few weeks. Can I still take the program? No problem! Whether you have a vacation coming up or a busy month at school, the modular, course-based format means you can take a month (or more) break anytime you need to. When you're back just let us know! You have any amount of time to complete the program, offering all the flexibility you'll need without compromising your learning goals.
I have lots of dance experience. Can I learn more quickly? We've aimed to make the Zouk Foundations Program the most effective and practical route for becoming adept at dancing zouk socially. However if you have an extensive dance background, then we would suggest taking private classes instead so that you can learn at a satisfying pace.
Okay, so I want to learn zouk! What does all this cost?
